Good immigrants, permitted outsiders: conditional inclusion and citizenship in comparison

چکیده
As states and national majorities often demand “good immigrants”, they designate a narrow space of inclusion that is conditional on fulfilling certain pre-determined criteria behaviour identity. Recognition membership in society increasingly something immigrants their children must deserve through efforts, achievements, actions. This special issue introduction develops theory good citizenship with focus migrant immigrant-origin minorities Europe the Americas. The research this reveals how regimes become modes controlling rank-ordering minorities. At same time, it shows respond diverse struggles for recognition. These are hidden battleground which negotiate parameters determine who can be included accepted given state or society. Their experience logic conditionality inherent to today.
